NEWPORT COAST RESIDENCE

This Newport Coast residence is a soft version of modern, with a bit of Deco, old Hollywood and Asian Zen.  The furniture choices are all about femininity without being frilly. Chairs and occasional cabinets have graceful curves. Fabrics, such as velvet, ask to be brushed by fingers.  Even the colors are gentle -- a soothing sky blue as a counterpoint to the earthy colors everywhere: on the walls in the dining room, on the sofa in the living room and on the armless slipper chairs in the family room.
